What Is a Bioclimatic Louvered Pergola?
A louvered pergola is an aluminium garden structure with a roof made of rotating slats, louvres, that open and close at the touch of a button. Tilt them towards the sun for dappled shade and natural ventilation, or close them completely to create a watertight roof that shrugs off British rain. Because the roof responds to the climate rather than fighting it, this style is known as a bioclimatic pergola: on warm days the open louvres release rising heat, and on wet or windy days the sealed roof and patented double-gutter drainage carry water away invisibly through the posts. It is, quite simply, an electric pergola that turns your terrace into a second living room outdoors, usable in January as happily as in July.
Every Tarasola pergola with louvered roof is built from 100% extruded, powder-coated aluminium, and the flagship models resist winds of up to 160 km/h with snow loads from 120 to 600 kg/m², genuine engineering, not garden-centre furniture. A modular post system lets neighbouring modules share a single post, so runs can extend across the largest patios, courtyards and commercial terraces. Choose a freestanding Pavilion on four posts, a wall-mounted Gardena on two, or a post-free Tende spanning wall to wall, finished in four standard colours or any RAL shade, Tiger 3D metallics and wood-effect coatings.
Who is a louvred pergola (you will also see louvre pergola and louvre roof pergola, the same system) for? Homeowners who want to cook, dine and entertain outside whatever the forecast; restaurants, bars and hotels that need to earn from their outdoor space all year; and architects and developers specifying low-maintenance, high-spec outdoor structures. Harmony View designs, supplies and installs every louvered pergola, including the electrics, LED lighting and automation, across Epsom, Surrey, London and the South East, with nationwide enquiries welcome.
